Rates & Considerations

I am committed to making my services as accessible as possible. I reserve a limited number of lower-cost slots on my caseload and am open to discussing what fee would be reasonable and sustainable for folks.

That being said, I also ask that if you or your payor are able to pay within a higher tier and are interested in contributing to community care and mutual aid, that you will do so. Clients who pay the full fee are contributing to a Pay-It-Forward system where folks seeking gender-affirming services and others with less means can also access my services. If you are socially-justice oriented and have the funds, I hope you will approach this as an opportunity to invest in yourself and your self-work, as well as an opportunity to participate in equitable practices.

Individual Therapy

One-on-one Online Therapy for Adults 18+ in Oregon

  • Initial intakes are typically 90-minute sessions so we can review informed consent, confidentiality, discuss hopes for treatment, and briefly explore relevant personal and mental health history.

Due to the longer session time and additional administrative work on my end, these initial appointments are performed at a higher fee than ongoing sessions.

    90min | $275

  • Online individual therapy occurs weekly or every-other-week via Zoom, depending on the needs of the client. These weekly sessions will be between 45-55min, depending on the client needs and any potential insurance requirements.

    45-55min | $225

  • Sliding scale and income-based fees are available for a limited number of clients.

My ultimate goal is to make therapy accessible to those in the most need, while also acknowledging that I need to make a living so I can continue to provide this service.

    Initial Intake

    90min | Sliding Scale $100 - $200

    Ongoing Individual Sessions

    45-55min | Sliding Scale $90 - $200

Group Therapy

Online Group Therapy to Improve Relationships

  • Similar to the Initial Intake for individual therapy, this screener for group therapy gives a potential group member the opportunity to meet with me to discuss current and past relational challenges and hopes for group. I will provide more information on group structure and expectations for group and participation. At the end of the screener we can both decide if group is a good fit for you at that time.

    50min | $100

  • Group members are expected to attend weekly 90-minute group therapy sessions over the course of 12 weeks. Group members are welcome to re-join a group at the end of 12 weeks if they would like to continue improving relational skills and deepen their understanding of their attachment patterns.

At this time, all lower-tier slots for individual therapy have been filled.

I will keep this page updated as more $180-and-under slots become available

For more information on why I use equitable sliding scales, read here. The basic premise is also summarized well in this excerpt by Alexis J. Cunningfolk below:

“Typically, there is a limited amount of slots for products, services, and classes offered at the middle and lower end of the scale. Please be mindful that if you purchase a price at the lowest end of the scale when you can truthfully afford the higher ticket prices, you are limiting access to those who truly need the gift of financial flexibility. Being honest with yourself and your financial situation when engaging with sliding scale practices grows strong and sustainable communities. It also respects the work of teachers and creators, like myself, you have families to support and rent to pay. Additionally, when I am paid fairly, I am able to invest more time and resources to free and lower cost offerings.”

Do you accept my insurance?

At this time I am only able to provide out-of-pocket or private pay services, which means I am considered “out-of-network” by most insurances. I accept debit, credit, and HSA/FSA cards via my secure online payment system.

Some insurances allow individuals to see out-of-network providers and may reimburse you for some or all of the cost of services. Prior to scheduling with me, please contact your insurance provider to see if you have this benefit. If so, I will provide you with what is called a “superbill” that you will submit to your insurance for reimbursement, meaning you will still be responsible for payment at the time of services.

Why private pay?

  • I can work with individuals who:

    • Do not meet full criteria for a diagnosis, or who have a diagnoses not prioritized by their insurance company

    • Are seeking talk therapy for non-clinical issues, like exploration of sexuality or identity, navigation of difficult life transitions, and processing relationship dynamics

    • Would like a more tailored approach to therapy not limited by what their insurance provider deems necessary

  • I can collaborate with my clients to determine a course of treatment that most makes sense for them and if receiving a diagnosis would be beneficial

  • I can avoid tedious administrative work, increasing the amount of time and energy I have for my clients and reducing the need for outside administrative support (and costs)

Benefits of private pay:

Limitations of insurance:

  • Many insurance companies have a set list of diagnoses they will cover; this leaves those who do not fit into these categories without coverage

  • Insurance providers require ongoing treatment plans

    • Each insurance provider has their own templates or forms and can deny coverage if specific words or phrases are not used

    • Treatment plans must include specific and concrete goals, which can be helpful for many issues and symptoms (like reducing panic attacks) but don’t make sense for other concerns (encountering systemic racism, processing relational issues, etc.)

  • Insurance providers can limit the number of sessions available if they determine a certain issue should be solved within that time-frame

    • Clinicians are often limited to 4-10 sessions with a client regardless of their needs, or are required to routinely submit proof to the insurance that therapy would still benefit the client

What if I can’t afford your full fee?

I am committed to making my services as accessible as possible. I reserve a limited number of lower-cost slots on my caseload and am open to discussing what fee would be reasonable and sustainable for folks.

That being said, I also ask that if you are able to pay within a higher tier and are interested in contributing to community care and mutual aid, that you will do so. The more clients I have who are aware of their stable income and are willing to engage in this redistribution, the more people in need I can support.
